Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Locality Network handles personal data in connection with this website. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be clear about what happens to it. It is written with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind.
Who is responsible
Locality Network is the controller for the personal data processed through this website. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@locality.network.
Data we collect
Browsing this website does not require you to give us personal data. Our web server keeps standard, short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, request time, and user agent) needed to operate and secure the site. Your language preference and your analytics-consent choice are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. If you contact us by email, we process the data you choose to include.
How we use data
We use technical logs to run, secure, and troubleshoot the website; local-storage preferences to remember your language and consent choices; and, only if you opt in, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Legal basis for processing
We rely on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website for technical logs and essential preferences; on your consent for any non-essential analytics; and on our legitimate interest in responding to you when you contact us directly.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage for two essential items only: your language preference and your analytics-consent decision. No analytics or tracking runs unless and until you consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data or changing your choice.
Third parties and processors
The website is served from our own infrastructure. It links to third-party services (such as GitHub, X, and the Easy application) that have their own privacy policies. We do not currently share your personal data with third-party analytics or advertising providers; if that ever changes, this policy and the consent flow will be updated first.
Data retention
Technical server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted or anonymized. Local-storage preferences remain in your browser until you clear them. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos). To exercise any right, contact hello@locality.network.
Blockchain data
Some network activity is recorded on a public blockchain. By design, blockchain records are distributed and effectively permanent, which means data written to the ledger generally cannot be changed or deleted, including by us. Consider this before authorizing on-chain transactions.
International transfers
Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection, for example through appropriate safeguards recognized under the GDPR.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age of digital consent, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be signalled on the website.
