Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Locality Network website and the products, features, and content we make available through it (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service
Locality Network is a public network that lets self-governed communities issue their own community currency, run transparent and anonymous voting, and manage appointments, events, and queues. This website is an informational and access point for that network. Some features connect to a blockchain and to the companion "Easy" application; those may carry their own terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Accounts and community membership
Some functionality requires joining a community or creating an account through the Easy application. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and recovery information secure, and for all activity carried out under your account. Communities are self-governed; membership, roles, and permissions within a community are set by that community, not by Locality Network.
Community currency and blockchain
Community currency units (including LOCA) are network tokens used inside communities. They are not legal tender, not securities, and not an investment product, and no profit or return is promised. Blockchain transactions are, by design, irreversible and may be permanently recorded on a public ledger. You are solely responsible for the transactions you authorize.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular you must not: break the law; infringe others' rights; attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data; disrupt or overload the network; upload malware; scrape or harvest data beyond what these Terms and our robots.txt allow; or use the Service to deceive, harass, or harm others.
Data we process
Our use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. In short, this website is designed to work with minimal data collection: it stores your language preference and, where applicable, an analytics-consent choice in your browser, and does not run third-party tracking without your consent.
Cookies and local storage
This website does not set advertising cookies. It uses your browser's local storage only for essential preferences such as your chosen language and your analytics-consent decision. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Third-party links and services
The Service links to third-party sites and tools (for example GitHub, X, and the Easy application). We are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of third parties, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
Intellectual property
The Locality Network name, logos, and the content of this website are owned by Locality Network or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Open-source components are licensed under their respective licenses, available in our public repositories. You may not use our branding in a way that implies endorsement without permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. You use the Service at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Locality Network and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, tokens, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be signalled on the website. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts of Catalonia, Spain.
